These cupcakes were made for a friend’s third anniversary at her company. She requested three dozen assorted cupcakes including Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup, Southern Red Velvet, and Cookies & Cream. Each cupcake was adorned with a white sugar flower. Congratulations!
Modern Birthday Cake

This latest cake is for a young woman’s birthday… she wanted something sophisticated and modern to celebrate her big day. The cake is vanilla, with vanilla buttercream filling and vanilla fondant icing. The decorations (polka dots & anemone flower) are all vanilla sugar paste and royal icing.

Sunday, April 12th, 2009Happy Easter! I had a great weekend of friends, family, and baking… hope you did, too! 
I did two projects this weekend, one which I’ll post on now, one for later. The first was an experiment in a new technique for me… big, beautiful gum paste flowers. This little pink cake has white gum paste polka dots and a single, handmade ivory bloom. It was a great learning experience - I’m looking forward to doing more handmade sugar flowers on upcoming projects!
