What a lovely surprise! You may recall the fantastic couple, Natalie and James, whose cake I did last fall. They are one of the sweetest couples I’ve met, and their gorgeous wedding was featured yesterday on Style Me Pretty. Last night, my fiance and I celebrated the marriage of our dear friends Ben and Leah at the lovely Hamilton Twelve outside of Austin. After a beautiful ceremony, we enjoyed the amazing Austin weather at the outdoor reception and danced the night away with friends and family.
Ben and Leah asked me to create their wedding cake(s) a while back, and it was such a pleasure and honor to design something special for them. Rather than the classic bride and groom cake combination, the couple wanted to have multiple coordinated cakes that were each unique in design. I created three cakes, including one that was inspired by the lace pattern in the bride’s dress. The topper on the green cake was actually designed and created by the groom! The cakes were split between our Lemon-Raspberry Dream and Southern Red Velvet flavors.

Happy holidays, everyone! I can’t believe we’re halfway through December. I haven’t done a bit of Christmas shopping - ugh!! However, I have been busy designing away - here’s the latest project. This holiday-themed design included red, white, and silver accents, including a large fondant bow topper. Of all the “stripe-y” cakes I’ve done, I’m most pleased with the vertical stripes on the bottom tier of this one… 
I’ll have several more designs to share before the holiday break… stay tuned!
I can’t tell you how excited I was to design this cake! The design is is five tiers, inspired by the lovely centerpiece arrangements created by Michelle at the Silver Vase. Each tier was covered in pearly white or teal fondant and accented with brown satin ribbon. My favorite part of the design is the cascade of delicate, handmade sugar orchids.

What a fabulous way to end a very busy week! This five-tier design includeds alternating full and half-height tiers. The design is accented with satin and sheer chocolate ribbon, as well as seven handmade larger-than-life sugar cosmos flowers.
This birthday cake design was created to reflect a carnival/big top theme. It’s technically a two-tier cake, and it boasts lots of bold colors and hand-cut sugar lettering and circus animals.
This little number is a two-tier design with crisp white fondant, satin ribbon, and a handmade gumpaste sugar anemone flower. Enjoy!
