I made this cake as a surprise for my boyfriend’s son’s 10th birthday party. The cake is chocolate with peanut butter filling. It’s iced in vanilla buttercream and vanilla fondant. The accents are vanilla fondant and sugar paste. Happy Birthday, Peyton!!

This week’s latest project was a bridal shower cake that I completed for a party on Saturday… It’s a chocolate “cookies and cream” cake that’s done in the open gift box style (both the bottom and top of the box are made from cake). It’s covered in Tiffany-blue vanilla fondant and decorated with gumpaste accents, including a hand-modeled Tweety bird holding an engagement ring made entirely from sugar.
This cake was created for one of my colleague’s sons who graduated from high school on Wednesday… The cake is chocolate with chocolate buttercream filling and tinted vanilla fondant. It’s fashioned to resemble the traditional graduation cap (or mortar board). The cake was accompanied by a dozen graduation cap cupcakes, which were chocolate with vanilla buttercream frosting.
What a week! It’s been so busy that I haven’t even had a chance to upload pictures of all the latest cakes… Here’s the first of several - it’s a celebration spread honoring First Communion recipients at an old friend’s church here in Austin. The cake is lemon-raspberry, covered in vanilla fondant, and topped with a gumpaste cross topper. The cupcakes were southern red velvet and peanut butter-chocolate, each covered in a vanilla cross topper.
